Strategy to follow while targeting broad keywords

Posted by Unknown

Keyword research is an important part of your SEO campaign, its very important to select right keywords to target, because selecting wrong keywords will lead to nothing but your efforts and money will go in vain. I have seen that people often select too broad keywords, having too much competition. In my opinion you should select such keywords only when you are a big corporation and you have a great  fan following who love to talk about you, because it will lead to automatic link building which is very essential while doing SEO.

Recently I came across one question which was like this:

I want to get the SERP of the keyword “iPhone application development”. Back links for this page is 27.

when I searched "iPhone application development" I saw that websites which were coming on top were having very good backlinks. So my opinion on this was:

In this competition should also be taken into consideration. If you search for “iPhone application development” on google.co.in (considering that you are targeting Indian market) then the first website which we are getting has the targeted keyword in the url itself and they have enormous backlinks too. So, if you are a start up its very difficult for you to rank for such a broad keyword in a short span of time because your competitors might also be doing SEO on a continuous basis and more over they might be having a good and satisfied clientele who might be active on social networks giving backlinks to your competitor.
So my recommendation for you is to make a good back linking strategy, start building links on a continuous basis and target other keywords too along with your broad search term "iphone application development". You can also use social media to your advantage as you are iphone apps developer.

How to remove Google Suggestions.

Almost everyone of you might have obsered that whenever we type something to search on Google in gives us related suggestions. Recently I came across a situation where competitors were using Google Suggestion to demote a brand. I exactly don't know the criteria that when does Google includes certain keyword or key phrase in its suggestions i.e., whether it takes it upon reaching certain number of results obtained upon searching that keyword or on being number of times it has been searched. Now, what my competitors did was that they either searched the keyword many times or provided much results with that keyword so that it began to appear in Google Suggestions. The keyword was "companyname complaints" and when you search this you get complaints against company and I am very much sure that these complaints were also posted by
competitors themselves. Now it was our task to remove the suggestion and we tried real hard but could not find a solution to the problem.

So, finally we decided to post some articles with something positive and we made sure that those articles come on top with same keyword with which competitors were demoting our brand.

So, friends their is solution to every problem and its said that when someone starts pulling your leg that means you are progressing.

Convert your weaknesses into Strengths.

Optimizing table tag, using summary attribute

Posted by Unknown

You might have often heard from search engine optmizers (SEO) that table tags are not a good thing to go for. They always recommend using <div> tag for structuring a website. Well I will also recommend <div> tag instead of <table> tag, but what to do when it becomes necessary to use <table> tag. Can we optimize it, if yes then how?

So here is the way to optimize <table> tag and get best results out of it in terms of getting good search engine rankings.

Use "summary" attribute, it serve the same purpose which "alt" attribute serve for image (<img>) tag. The summary attribute specifies the summary of the content of a table and it makes no visual difference in ordinary web browsers. Table summary attribute also provide structure for user agents rendering to non-visual media such as speech and Braille.

One example:

<table SUMMARY="Red, green and blue cells" border=1>

<tr>
<td bgcolor=red>&nbsp;</td>
<td bgcolor=green>&nbsp;</td>
<td bgcolor=blue>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>

</table>
